ICOLD panels are manufactured using a cutting-edge foamed-in-place process. During this process, two chemicals are forcefully injected between two metal skins to create polyurethane insulation panels. The chemical reaction generates substantial heat and pressure during the curing process. With over 500 tons of pressure applied to the panel, it achieves exceptional structural strength and density, resulting in the outstanding insulation capabilities of the polyurethane panel.
The ICOLD panels are available in standard sizes but can be custom-designed to fit your specific space and requirements. They are manufactured in sections and assembled at work sites like pieces of a puzzle. The panels have a width of 400 to 1200 mm and a length of 400 to 7000 mm.
The ceiling, wall, and floor are secured together using eccentric locks. Tongue and groove with polyethene gasket joints ensure complete and airtight installation. Butt joint panels are available upon request.

ICOLD designs a wide range of cold room systems to suit your various operating needs and applications.
We offer water-cooled, hermetic, and semi-hermetic systems that run on non-CFC or R-22 refrigerants. The unit is available in air-cooled or water-cooled configurations. We also provide a marine upgrade to minimise the impact of salt on seaside installations.
The system requires a three-phase, 50 Hertz power supply and offers 60 Hertz voltage as an option.
Additionally, the ICOLD refrigeration system is equipped with a phase detector to protect it from fluctuating voltage supplies.
- Our system has several built-in safety functions to protect it from unstable power supply. For instance, there is a delay circuit that delays the compressor start-up after a shutdown. - It is possible to install condensing units remotely. The standard distance from the evaporator unit should not exceed 20 meters, and for distances longer than that, we may need to increase the pipe size or compressor capacity. - You can connect multiple compressors in a rack system, which provides greater efficiency and system backup. - ICOLD conducts the value engineering design and manufacturing of our evaporator coil. The aluminum fins are coated to facilitate easy cleaning.
During storage, the coils are filled with high-pressure nitrogen gas and thoroughly tested for leakage. If any leakage is not detected, it will become apparent when the coil is unsealed during the system assembly.
The ICOLD Controller Box is positioned in front of the cold room. Several options are available, such as remote monitoring and control systems.
These systems allow for remote monitoring, control, and diagnosis of all systems from the control room via an open protocol internet connection or connection through a Building Management System (BMS).
